Spooky Six Family-Friendly Halloween Events in Leeds

With just a few weeks to go until Halloween, I thought it would be useful to share a few of my favourite family friendly Halloween activities taking place in Leeds this year.

  1. The Scarecrow Trail at Kirkstall Abbey

The Scarecrow Trail at Kirkstall Abbey is free and takes children on a fun trail around Spooky scarecrow trailpicturesque Kirkstall Abbey.  All you need to do to get started is pick up an activity sheet from the visitor centre and then you are all set to find witches, trolls and vampires on this exciting adventure.

Cost – Free!

When – Tues 25th October to Sunday 31st October 2016

  1. Lotherton Hall Scarecrow Trail

You can’t go on too many scarecrow trails at Halloween! Lotherton Hall has its own scary scarecrow trail across the Lotherton Hall estate from 27th October until 4th November.

There are also Halloween craft activities taking place in the house.

Cost – Adult £5.50, Children £2.70

  1. See a Halloween Film at Sneaky Experience

See a classic Halloween Film at the Sneaky Experience pop up cinema at Kirkstall Abbey.  This Halloween they are showing the family classic, Hocus Pocus from Friday 28th October 2pm and dressing up as Ghosts, Ghoulies and Witches is welcome!  https://sneakyexperience.co.uk/hocus-pocus/

  1. Farmer Copley’s Pumpkin Trail – Pontefract

Image result for Farmer Copleys Pumpkin Trail - PontefractJust outside Leeds, Farmer Copley’s is one of the best places to pick up a pumpkin and take part in lots of Halloween themed activities.

They have thousands of pumpkins available, including white pumpkins, blue pumpkins and even square pumpkins!  The kids will also love the tractor rides, fancy dress and face painting.

  1. Halloween Adventure at Stockeld Park

We love Stockeld Park, near Harrogate, all year round but they really go to town at Halloween giving families a wonderfully spooky experience.

There are fun Halloween activities such as pumpkin carving and a witch and wizard trail, as well as exploring the magical forest and ice skating.

Date – 19th – 31st October

  1. Take part in creepy activities at Armley Mills

There are loads of creepy activities taking place at Armley Mills this Halloween including scary stories, craft activities and face painting.  You also get the chance to explore the museum too.

Cost – Free

Date – Halloween Family Fun Day is on Sunday 30th October.
